Campingplace Lüderitz, Namibia | |
Evaluation Campingplace Kreplin Strasse Shark IslandOn a peninsula in front of Lüderitz with a beautiful panorama and a rich history lies the square.. During the uprisings between 1905 and 1907, there was a prison camp for Herero and Nama.. Some of the monuments on the site remind you of it.. At the Luderitzbucht there is sometimes mist or it is very stormy.. Shark Island is a public park (national monument) and camping site at the same time.. At the entrance gate, guests must pay admission.. A road leads around the rocky land.. The many pitches are grouped around the rocks.. There are several sanitary blocks which are cleaned daily.. The facility is operated by the State Wildlife Resorts (NWR).. Apart from the pitches there are bungalows and also two rooms in the old lighthouse at moderate prices.. In bad weather this would be a retreat.
