- At this point, the Canal de Jonction branches off the Canal du Midi and we follow this turnoff to the mouth of the Mediterranean, before continuing again along the Canal du Midi.. <9> <9> The Canal de Jonction connects the Canal du Midi and the Aude river.. He branches off behind Port Somail from the Canal du Midi.. After a distance of only five kilometers and 7 locks, the canal flows southeast of Salleles d´Aude into the Aude.. <9> <9> After crossing the Aude, at Moussoulens you will reach the Canal de la Robine, passing through Narbonne and then on to Port-la-Nouvelle, where it leads to the Mediterranean Sea.
