The church was built from 1182 to 1267 in the late Romanesque style.
1336 the remodeling of the choir in the Gothic style took place.
Also in the period that followed, numerous changes and additions took place.

The church dates from the 11th century. In the 12th century the transept, chancel and flat apse were added.
Other additions such as the towers are architecturally controversial.
