The Westendpark motorhome parking lot in Schmalkalden is located on the grounds of the 2015 State Garden Show and offers space for 8 motorhomes up to 10 meters long. However, from October 31st to March 31st, water and sewage systems will be shut down due to frost.

Wide pitches up to 9m on asphalt. Electricity 1€ 6 hours, supply, disposal and fresh water 1€ 50L. . Nice, quiet place in a well-kept park with a stream. Very quiet despite the train station being nearby.

Card payment is proving to be a bit difficult. The places themselves are clean and quiet, the nearby train service doesn´t really bother you.

Nice little plant. On the one hand the train, but it doesn´t bother you much, on the other hand a very nicely laid out, spacious park area. Since you can be in the beautiful old town in just a few minutes, you have everything a motorhome´s heart desires. @Unfortunately, we also had to find out that there are more and more egoists in the guild of motorhomes, the others take away the places through their reckless behavior because they are either across or in the middle of 2 parking spaces. On August 24th there were two of this impudent species at the alternative place, unfortunately. @

In front of the bus station there is another parking lot on the right with additional spaces on the right. The fields are delimited by trees. Two mobile homes would fit between the trees and would have the same space as on the pitch. The same fee has to be paid at the machine on the pitch. Since you stood in the middle, the eight possible places were occupied by four Womos. We drove on @ Then.

Actually a nice place, but we had to spend the first night in the new additional place. Everything was OK until half past four in the morning, but then. . . . Right next to it is a parking space for buses that gradually let their engines warm up, sometimes for 20 minutes at a time. As soon as a bus has left, the next one has preheated. The next morning we could move to the quiet main square.
