Accepts ACSI CardThe site is very nice, most sites have a view of the lake. The atmosphere wasn´t that nice. The square may not be visited before check-in and is surrounded by barbed wire.
Parking spaces for only one night are with a lake view but directly at the garbage containers (noise and smell)
Do not enter the campsite before registering!!!

Nice location right on the Laacher See, convenient online reservation. But woe betide you have a question later. By phone: 20 minutes in the queue, then a Dutchman from the head office answers. And he has no idea. Do you need a corona test? Is the place affected by the flood? Nothing. In fact, they didn´t even know that their place was in Rhineland-Palatinate. By email: No answer, just nothing, not even in spam. Instead of the campsite, I called the monastery shop in Maria Laach. They could help. Very embarrassing. Then on site: Internet? Nothing. The hotspots are so far apart, no chance. Then I stand far away from my parking space next to the hotspot, the contact is now there, registration works too, but no internet. Great. Cellular? Also nil,not even with Telekom. Telephoning yes, internet no. Later in the restaurant: Nothing special, but tasty, and it´s nice on the balcony. But why does the lawn directly in front of it have to be mowed at the best meal time in the evening? And why with such a shell machine? Three nights, paid in advance. Unfortunately. . . .

In the afternoon we waited in the queue in front of the gate and said (quote!) ´What do you want?´ been received. Since we didn´t make an appointment beforehand (which we didn´t know), we were simply sent away without checking whether there was still a place available for the night. I have never seen such manners in all of Europe in the past 25 years. Rude, disrespectful and absolutely NOT recommended!

No sanitary facilities open in corona times. Great care is taken to keep a distance. It takes time to register. Appointments are given. Making calls difficult. Bad internet or 3 € / day
