  • Our itinerary starts near Mulhouse.. I did not describe the journey within Germany.. <9> The first part takes us to Martigny in Switzerland.. From here on the ´Col de la Forclaz´ (1526m) to the French border, continue on the ´Col des Montets´ (1461m) to Chamonix.. The slope with up to 11% with well-developed road is no problem. We drive here in the north at the foot of the ´Mont Blanc´ along.. <9> <9> On the way to the next peak, the ´Grand Canyon du Verdon´, we did not visit anything special, but enjoyed the beautiful scenery and some small town.. The visit to the Grand Canyon and especially the Route des Cretes was a special experience.. <9> <9> In the ´Cote d´Azure´ and ´Provence´ area between Frejus and ´Saintes Maries de la Mer´, relaxation, nature, culture and history are the order of the day.. <9> <9> Graduated from ´George de la Dourbie´, ´George de la Jonte´, ´George du Tarn´ and ´George de l´Ardeche´.. Not to forget the caves in the ´Causse du Larzac´ and ´Causse Noir´.. Here nature is in the foreground.. <9> <9> Of course, we wanted to enjoy the good French cuisine throughout the trip.. Often we were disappointed.. Many of the small restaurants we saw and visited years ago are pizzerias today.. <9> <9> After reaching the Rhone we go homeward without any special features.. The Rhône Valley, the Saone Valley and the Doubs Valley also have their charms.. <9> <9> Our journey took 25 days, plus.. Arrival and departure in Germany.. <9> <9> We got a surprise while refueling in France.. Many petrol stations are only equipped with vending machines and do not accept credit cards.. Thus we could only refuel, if the cash was occupied.. But then up to 5Cent more expensive.. <9> Another special feature.. In many places the electricity columns are equipped with French sockets.. This means that the protective conductor is a pin and requires the corresponding hole in the plug.. This plug is not widely used in Germany.
