  • The Berchtesgadener Land also combines endurance training and enjoyment of nature in winter: Active holidaymakers glide through the impressive mountain landscape while cross-country skiing on crunchy snow under a steel-blue sky. <9> The region offers over 100 kilometers of well-groomed trails for every taste. The high-altitude trail on the Scharitzkehl in Berchtesgaden is particularly <9> snow-sure until spring. It offers all levels of difficulty: from the easy to the medium and demanding to the 1.3 kilometer long skating route. The reward for the effort is the subsequent stop in the picturesque Scharitzkehlalm with a view of the imposing rocks of the G ll west face. <9> The most extensive network of trails in the Aschauerweiher cross-country skiing center in Bischofswiesen offers six different routes with a total of 19.2 kilometers. For the most part, the cross-country trails can be used in parallel in classic and skating style. Every day from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., fitness enthusiasts meet for a night run under floodlights on the stadium circuit. <9> Recreational athletes will also get their money´s worth with the new trend sports Nordic Cruising or Nordic Fitness Skiing. Those who enjoy the snow-covered winter landscape make their own way through the untouched nature <9> or use existing paths and trails. <9> Those who prefer exercise without skis can experience the wintry nature with winter hiking, snowshoe trekking or Nordic winter walking. <9> To relax after sport, you can go to the baths and saunas of the <9> RupertusTherme or Watzmann Therme.
