According to their beliefs they placed their community under the ´care of the Lord´ and called their colony Herrnhut.. The Brotherhood of Brethren is known under the name Moravian Church or Evangelical Church.. It is an ecumenically open church.. <9> In the middle of the 15th century, the Brethren came from the Bohemian Reformation.. After the expulsion by the Counter-Reformation, a new foundation under Nikolaus Ludwig Graf von Zinzendorf was completed at the beginning of the 18th century.. To date, many members also belong to the Protestant Church.. <9> Today, the Fraternity acts in communities, hospitals, schools, kindergartens, nursing homes and business enterprises, and the worldwide reputation is known through the slogans that are redeemed here each year, as well as through the Herrnhut Stern..
