  • The health resort Ottenhöfen belongs to Ortenaukreis, is located at 300 to 1000m altitude and has 1900 inhabitants.. <9> The name of the village was the Ottohof, which was first mentioned in 1479 in a document.. From this homestead, the village was born <9> Since the 14th century, the region belonged to the administrative district of the Prince Bishops of Strasbourg, later the Knights of Bosenstein had the say here <9> In 1803 Ottenhöfen fell to the Grand Duchy of Baden, in 1973 it was then newly founded Ortenaukreis connected <9> <9> Hikers, bikers, Nordic walkers and mill enthusiasts will get their money´s worth here.. There is a mill path that leads past several mills, which is why Ottenhöfen is also called Mühlendorf <9> Children have fun in the natural bath or on the Kletterpfad ´Karlsruher ridge´ which is located east of the village. <9> <9> Equally interesting is the Achertalbahn , a museum train or the Bürgermuseum near the train station on the upper floor of the Bürgerhaus.. <9> Worth mentioning is the annual village well festival on the last weekend in July.
