District Warnemünde <9> <9> The municipality of Rostock secured free access to the Baltic Sea already in 1252 and 1323 along the twelve kilometer long estuary of the Warnow.. The Baltic Sea resort belongs to Rostock - ´the beautiful daughter´.. <9> <9> Since 1926 the ´Warnemuende Woche´ takes place every year in the first week of July according to the ´Kieler Vorbild´.. <9> <9> The old stream is lined with pretty fishermen´s houses - many with ´glass boxes´;. unheated wooden glass verandas for bathers retrofitted.. <9> <9> Fancy it is in the Kurhaus and casino.. Both are housed in a 1927 building.. <9> <9> <994/1127474> <994/1278898> <994/1127473> <9> <9> The Warnemünde beach is the widest (up to 100 m) on the Mecklenburg Baltic coast.. Due to the location of the bay, there can sometimes be high waves here.. <9> <9> The dune landscape is especially beautiful.. The kilometer-long lake promenade runs behind the dunes and begins at the lighthouse , which was built in 1897/98 from white glazed bricks..
