- The Tara Gorge is located in the Durmitor National Park and is only surpassed by the Grand Canyon.. In some places, the steep walls reach heights of up to 1600 m.. The Tara has made its way through the limestone sandstone over a length of 80 km, thus creating this natural spectacle.. <9> The best view of the impressive gorge is from the water.. Rafting and kayaking tours, with competent guides, are offered in many places.. <9> It is also possible to see part of the gorge from the Durdevica-Tara bridge, which spans the river at a height of 150 meters.. <9> The bridge with a length of 350 m consists of 5 arches and was built in 1938.. The largest arch with a span of 116 m and four arches of 47 m each give the bridge its striking appearance.. <9>
