The cave formed the underground stream of the Bodva River in Mesozoic Trias in five developmental levels.. Inside are rich sintered formations.. Noteworthy are pagoda-like stalagmites, stalagmites, ´stone´ waterfalls, drums, tubes and other forms.. The cave is a major wintering ground for bats.. Up to 19 of the 24 genera living in Slovakia spend the winter here.. The cave was already known in historical times, as evidenced by the inscription of the Bohemian brothers in the hall Husitská sieĹ from 1452.
