The castle is located on a hill (130 m) just outside the town of Shkodra and offers a view of both old and new Shkodra.
Already in the 4th century B.C. Founded by the Illyrians with the name Scodra, expanded by the Romans and used for military purposes until 1913, the castle has unfortunately fallen into ruin. There are only fragments of this once so important complex left.
