Overnight stays at the Turmkogel car park outside of the high season in winter are not a problem. In winter there is a cross-country skiing center and a medium-quality ski lift. With Liftstüberl at the mountain station, which borders on the parking lot. There are flat spots more in the lower area. There are many hiking trails and the village of Puchenstuben with an inn and shops is within walking distance. A ride on the Mariazellerbahn is attractive. There is a train station in Puchenstuben and in Gösing. One tip is the Ötscherbär train, which runs once a day as a nostalgic train to St. Pölten or Mariazell. Normal tickets are valid on the train.
