parking Gerlos, Austria

  Magnificent, very quiet pitch on a 1500sqm balcony at 1500m altitude. The complex is divided into 4 levels. On level 4 are the valley station of the Fußalm-X-Press, the mountain station of the Moseltret-X-Press, the lift ticket office, the umbrella bar, toilet, waste bin, the ski bus stop with connections to Zell am Ziller and Bramberg and a parking lot. There are parking spaces on levels 3 and 2, but they are only used when there is a lot of traffic. On the lowest level 4 there is rarely a car. All parking lots are empty at night. There is a barrier in the driveway that is said to be closed from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. But I´ve always seen them openly.
The special thing about the pitch is the view. Below us is Gerlos, to the left the main Alpine ridge, in front of us the descent to Gerlos and on the right the notorious ´Schwarze´, which all skiers have to pass if they don´t want to go down in the chairlift. The slope is only 30m away. Romantics wait on the Fußalm until the lifts are closed and then drive down to the parking space.
