Gmuend, Pictures and general information

In the 12th century the city and the castle were founded by Kuenringer Hadmar II..
Due to the peace treaty of St. Germain, the city is divided in 1920 and a part ceded to Czechoslovakia..
The small town with about 6,000 inhabitants has a lot to offer culturally:

* Town square with the "Old Town Hall"
* 16th century graffiti houses
* Castle 12. Century
Museums (City, Glass and Stone Museum)

How did we camp at the campsite Gmünd, which is located in a quiet area and next to the thermal bath Gmünd.. The place is partially shaded, but very quiet.. You also noticed some extraordinary towing vehicles (Fig.)
As the next day promised to be nice, we decided to cycle through the Blockheide.. (Further pictures) The way led from Gmünd over Schrems, Amaliendorf, Heidenreichstein, Thaures, fire and nail mountain to the nature reserve Blockheide.. (Images)
