belgien 3800 Sint-Truiden Begijnhof 62
Like many other Belgian beguinages, the Sint Agnes Beguinage is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Abbot William Ryckel provided land in 1258 on which the Beguinage was built. What is special, however, is the Gothic church. The 38 pillar and wall paintings date from the 13th to 17th centuries and clearly illustrate the different painting techniques of the respective epoch.
Open from the beginning of April to the end of September from 10am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 5pm. Closed on Mondays.
