  • Phalsbourg, a town of about 4 800 inhabitants, is located west of Saverne and about 50 km northwest of Strasbourg.. The baroque garrison city once served as a refuge for fleeing Protestants, who found a new home here.. <9> The city architecture was constructed by the famous military architect Vauban.. Phalsbourg has been developed into a nearly impregnable fortress city.. <9> <9> On the north side of the ´Place d´Armes´ rises the baroque town hall.. In it is the historical museum..
