The parking lot is located at a paraglider launch site.. In nice summer weather, there are many tourists who enjoy the great views and the evening sun.. In the back there are about 20 parking spaces without a view in the forest.. The place is located at 950 m above sea level and is therefore a few degrees cooler.. In 800m distance is the Buchkopturm (lookout tower) and a few miles further the National Park.

There are now new prohibition signs! There is now an absolute ban on stopping at the parking lots directly at the starting meadow. At the parking lot at the back of the forest, campers are not allowed to drive between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. It´s a pity, we were there often and gladly and also stayed overnight. Now we just have to switch to other places at night.

Nice place. Drop-off point for paragliders. The parking spaces directly on the meadow with a view of the Rhine plain fill up quickly and are usually very uneven. 20m further is a larger parking lot in the forest. When the weather is nice, there is constant traffic. In the evening groups come to experience the sunset. Due to the altitude and orientation to the west, this is a wonderful experience. After sunset it gets a little quieter, unless there are young people partying on weekends. Still a nice place for us.

When the sun goes down and the weather is good, there is an EXTREME number of people (more than 40 cars, many young people). It may then be impossible to get a parking space and even for medium-sized motorhomes it is impossible. After sunset it empties in a flash. If you are looking for peace and quiet, you should take the nearby alternative 1km further at the ski lift, MEINWOMO ID 1789650. If you want the outstanding view of the sunsets and the morning view over the Rhine plain, you should stay here.
