    Altstadt Celle

    In the old town of Celle there are around 500 half-timbered houses, some of which date back to the 16th and 17th centuries. Many of them are superbly restored.
    New buildings are adapted to the old style, at least in terms of the facades. The Karstadt building is an exception.

    The parking space that once existed here was closed at the end of 2018 and was available as a parking lot. A new parking space is located at the Badeland on 77er Straße.

    He can also be reached on foot via the Dammaschwiesen.

    It was founded in 1892 as the “Fatherland Museum” and named after its first director, Wilhelm Bomann, in 1923.
    The extensive collections show the history of Lower Saxony and especially Celle´s regional and city history.
