    Cochem is a city in Germany that lies on the Moselle. The city has a rich history and offers a variety of activities and attractions for visitors.

    The city of Cochem has a rich history that dates back to the Middle Ages. The imposing Reichsburg, which dominates the cityscape, is one of the most important sights. The castle was rebuilt in the 19th century in a neo-Gothic style and provides a unique setting for various events, including a medieval castle festival.

    During the Second World War, large parts of Cochem´s old town were destroyed. In addition, the operating staff of the Zeisig underground subcamp of the Natzweiler concentration camp were located between the villages of Bruttig and Treis in Cochem. The city also has an interesting connection to the German Bundesbank, which built a secret bunker in Cochem-Cond during the Cold War to hold a reserve of 15 billion marks in banknotes.

    Cochem offers a variety of activities for tourists. The city is known for its promenade along the banks of the Moselle and also offers a chairlift to the Pinner-Kreuz, from where you have a wonderful view of the Moselle, Cochem and the Reichsburg. There is also the opportunity to take part in wine tastings in the wine bars and wineries in the area
