  • The Riedlinger Neufra district is dominated by the Renaissance castle on the Schlossberg.. It was built in the 14th century.. In 1569 Count Georg von Helfenstein had the historic hanging gardens built.. These gardens were built on up to eleven-meter-high arched terraces and had the purpose of keeping the church and castle from slipping.. The garden was created after Italian models.. The view from here above the Danube valley is fantastic.. <9> Here is also the quaint tower and garden tavern.. <9> <9> The garden is freely accessible from Easter to the end of October..
