    Esslingen am Neckar is a city in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. It lies on the Neckar and has a long history that dates back to the Middle Ages. Esslingen has a well-preserved old town with many historic buildings and is known for its half-timbered houses and the Esslingen Christmas market.

    The city has around 92,000 inhabitants and is an important business location in the Stuttgart region. There are many companies in the fields of mechanical engineering, automotive and information technology. Esslingen is also an important transport hub with a train station offering regular connections to Stuttgart and other cities in the region.

    There are many cultural events and sights in Esslingen, including the Old Town Hall, the town church of St. Dionysus and Esslingen Castle. The city is also known for its culinary specialties such as “onion cake” and “Neckar wine”.
