    Geburtshaus von Münchhausen

    Hieronymus Carl Friedrich Freiherr von Münchhausen was born here in 1720. After his military service he returned here and spent the rest of his life in the house. Today it is the town hall of Bodenden.

    The rear part of the horse missing from the fountain is on display here. The story goes that a blacksmith later put the two parts together and von Münchhausen was able to continue riding on them.
