In 1912, the Thuringian Forest Association built an observation tower on the 665 m high Barigauerhöhe. Over the years it has been renovated and expanded several times. In 1957 it was expanded to include a restaurant.

As early as 1887 there was a refuge here at an altitude of 786 m. In 1911 the observation tower was built and in 1934 the restaurant. The current appearance was created during renovation work in 1954.

In 1888 the observation tower was built on the 748 m high Kirchberg. The namesake is the founder of the kindergartens, Friedrich Fröbel.

Oberweißbacher Bergbahn
Now a single-track funicular with two wagons, primarily used for tourist purposes, which overcomes 323 meters in altitude over 1.4 km.
