- Osthofen is a non-association municipality in Wonnegau and was raised in 1970 to the city.. The most interesting architectural monument in Osthofen is today´s mountain church, the Romanesque tower is one of the rare examples of Salian architecture in rural areas and shows clear features of the famous Worms building school.. The St. Catherine´s Chapel, which borders the choir to the south, is decorated with remarkable Romanesque frescoes from around 1230.. The visit of the Kirchberg, with its lush old trees of the cemetery, is a worthwhile destination for any visitor, but you have in good weather visibility to the Odenwald and in the Palatinate.. From the 12th to the 15th century the monastery Hornbach had considerable property in Osthofen, including a monastery and several farms..
