    Ort Otterndorf

    Otterndorf is a historic town in Germany that lies on the Elbe and flows directly into the North Sea. The town belongs to the joint municipality of Land Hadeln and is a popular tourist destination. The first written mention of the town dates back to 1261. In 1400, Otterndorf received town rights from Duke Eric IV of Saxe-Lauenburg. Today Otterndorf is a well-known tourist resort with several swimming lakes nearby. The city also offers a variety of leisure options and attractions, including a lake district and a leisure complex with numerous attractions. Otterndorf is part of the federal state of Lower Saxony and belongs to the Cuxhaven district region. The city has various facilities such as schools, supermarkets and a hospital. Otterndorf is also known for its well-preserved old town with half-timbered and baroque buildings.
