TownSchulenberg
Schoolsberg in the Upper Harz is a small municipality in Lower Saxony, Germany, with a population of about 600 residents. It is located in the Harz Mountains and is part of the Oberharz municipality. The region is known for its scenic beauty, hiking opportunities and ski areas.
Schulenberg has a long history and was first mentioned in the 16th century. During the 19th century, the region became an important center for mining, particularly copper and silver. Today,schulenberg is a popular travel destination for tourists who want to enjoy the nature and tranquility of the region.

In 1952 it was decided to build the Okerstausee to generate energy and regulate flooding, which meant that some villages and settlements in the area had to be relocated. schulenberg was one of these places that was rebuilt in 1954 at a higher location to protect it from flooding.
Part of the originalschulenberg disappeared when the place was rebuilt in the 1950s. Today there are still the remains of the old settlement under the water of the Oker reservoir, which can sometimes be seen when the water level is low.
