    Adria

    The city of Adria, also known as Adria (Venice), is a small town in the Veneto region of northern Italy, near the mouth of the Po River into the Adriatic Sea. The city has a long history dating back to the 4th century BC. It dates back to BC when it was founded by the Etruscans.

    Over the centuries Adriatic has been an important trading center and port, especially during the Roman and Venetian periods. The city was an important hub for trade between the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.

    Today Adria is a quiet town with a rich history and a historic city center. The city´s attractions include the Romanesque Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and the Archaeological Museum. Adriatic is also known for its culinary specialties, particularly the seafood from the nearby Venice Lagoon.     [000.32]
