The freely accessible open-air museum Särna-Gammelgård shows buildings and facilities of an old farm from the late 18th / early 19th century. The buildings originally belonged to a farm that was farmed elsewhere for five generations until 1936. In 1939 the Särna Heritage Association bought the abandoned farm, moved the buildings and a few years later opened the outdoor exhibition next to the old church from 1684, which was no longer in use at that time. Household and agricultural objects from earlier centuries are on display next to and in the buildings.

Särna´s Old Church is a pearl among Sweden´s historic church buildings. It dates from the end of the 17th century, is built of wood and covered with wooden shingles on the outside. No longer used since the end of the 19th century, when a new church was built nearby, the open-air museum Särna-Gammelgård was established in its immediate vicinity in 1943, which shows the buildings and facilities of an old farm. The church was extensively restored in 1953 and is now a popular wedding church for prospective couples around Särna.
