Gizycko «Lötzen»

In 1340 the town was first mentioned in a document.. Lies on the isthmus between the Löwentinsee and the Mauersee.. On the large Werder Island, there was the Leczenburg on the isthmus between Löwentinsee and Kissainsee..
Gizycko is the sailing center of Masuria in the northern part of the Masurian Lake District..

Boyen Feast
Established in the years 1847 - 1855 with the museum and castle and canal crossed by a swing bridge The Bruno Cross on Table Mountain on Lake Löwentinsee was created at the same time.. The missionary Bruno of Querfurt with 18 companions is said to have found a martyr´s death in 1009 here.. Admission is granted by the four gates Lötzener-, Rasstenburger-, Waser- and Powvertor

   

Town church , Kosciol Ewangelico Augsburski, plac Grunwaldzki 3
built 1827. Like many Protestant churches in Prussia, this too was built according to Schinkel´s design.. It was not, as most other religious buildings in the former East Prussia, after 1945 rededicated to a Catholic church..

Only one wing has survived from the Order´s castle .. ul. sw. Brunona 1
Today is the Hotel St. Bruno..
