Bad Schussenried is a former moor spa in the Biberach district in Baden-Württemberg.
It is on the river Schussen. Peat mining was an important industry for Schussenried until the middle of the 20th century.

In 1947, Schussenried was made a town. Since April 26, 1966, the city has been allowed to use the title ´Bad´ ´. After the spa facilities were completely closed, the title´ Bad ´is no longer justified.

The area was already settled historically and archaeologically Finds prove it. Here, as at Bad Buchauer Federsee, the first wooden wheels were unearthed.
Shuozenried was first mentioned in a document in 1153. Around 700 AD, Suzzenried was a parish village.

* Upper Swabian Museum Village Kürnbach, OT Kürnbach, shows Upper Swabian farmhouses in a village with 31 buildings and many Furnishings from several centuries. From the Swabian Railway Association e. V. the 1.1 km long ´Kürnbach Steam Railway´ is operated there.

* Schussenried Abbey has had a lasting impact on the history of the city. The Premonstratensian monastery was founded in 1183.

The Swabian rock groups Grachmusikoff and Schwoißfuaß come from Bad Schussenried.
