Since 1997, the medieval town of Trogir has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site..
The historic center is located on an artificial island and is connected to both the mainland and the island of Ciovo with bridges..

 

The center is formed by the Ivana Pavla II Trg. The imposing cathedral is adorned with historic monuments such as the clock tower with its adjoining loggia, which served as a courtroom in the Middle Ages.. For minor offenses, the condemned were chained to the clock tower with chains and received their punishment by the population.. The chains can still be seen today..
Cipiko Palace, with its beautiful Gothic windows, was built by a wealthy Venetian family and now houses the Municipal Museum..
Inside the castle was a well, storerooms and dwellings to provide protection against possible sieges..
The fortress can be visited daily from 9am to 8pm.. In the evening there are often theater and concert evenings..
