Ruciane-Nida (Rudczanny and Nieden)

Formerly called Rudschanen, it is located in the Puscza Piska (Johannsiberger Heide), a huge forest and heath area south of the Masurian Lake District.. The place is nicely embedded between two lakes.. Today about 5,000 Eoin inhabitants live here..

History

The development of the village began in the 14th century with a charcoal burning.. 1679 followed by a watermill..
In 1866 the road to Pisz was built and from 1898 there was a railway connection to Mragowo.. Thus, tourism developed and became an important economic factor of the city..
