Travelers interested in art and culture can look forward to a special attraction in France in 2008:

From January 2008, visitors can visit 14 selected national museums for free during a six-month test. These include six art exhibitions in Paris and the surrounding area, as well as facilities in Toulon, Dijon, Reims and Limoges, and the tourist offices in the respective cities will be happy to provide the exact addresses and opening times on request.

Attempting free entry is intended to increase visitor numbers and appeal to younger people. Whether and how much museum visitors have to pay for admission from July 2008 depends on the result of the attempt.
