The Farnese family reigned until 1731. Under Alessandro Farnese, the city experienced a great boom of which still today the beautiful palaces testify.. <9> The historic center with Piazza Cavalli, with the city´s landmark, the Gotico (Town Hall), Piazza del Duomo and Largo Cesare Battisti with their shops and pubs are within easy walking distance.. <9> <9> <994/1622540> <994/1633739> <994/1633738> <9>
